Chewy Tubes are an innovative oral-motor device designed to provide a resilient, non-food, chewable surface for practicing biting and chewing skills, and as an aid to inhibit teeth grinding.
It is not intended for jaw exercise; rather, it can be offered as an alternative to negative oral habits.
The Green Knobby tube provides additional sensory input for those who require a little more tactile stimulation.
Chewy Tubes are available in size-specific colors (colors are all FDA approved). Select one from above:
- Small: Yellow- is used with smaller jaw typically infants and children up to 2 years old and individuals who cannot open the jaw very wide.
- Medium: Red- is typically used with toddlers, older children and adults to provide a smooth surface for practicing biting and chewing skills.
- Large/knobby (extra tactile input): Green- offers increased sensory input from raised bumps along the bitable stem. It provides a slightly firmer bitable surface.
- X-Large/Firm: Blue- it is intended for adolescents and adult with developmental disabilities, autism or sensory integration disorders.
