 Sensory Room

Qatar 2022 is the most inclusive World Cup ever!

For the first time in FIFA's history, stadium sensory viewing rooms have been implemented in 3 of the 8 World Cup stadium in Qatar. In addition to that, sensory rooms, with the support of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 LLC, Qatar Foundation, and FIFA, have been set up by the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) in different Fan Festivals and Fan zones in Qatar.

Why are Sensory Rooms important?

Often times, people with sensory challenges and sensitivities struggle with processing information received through one or a combination of their senses: sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch. Their brain registers, for example, normal sounds as being very loud or bright lights as offensive. These experiences can be incredibly overwhelming and cause dysregulation or meltdowns. Having a quiet, calm, space with soothing tools is great because it gives people the opportunity to regulate themselves and try the experience again.
